Hi Eggsy,

These devices are similar with the exception that TRS3232E is rated to withstand IEC 61000-4-2 ESD up to 8 kV (contact discharge) / 15 kV (air discharge), while the TRS3232 device is only rated for HBM ESD.

Hi Max,

Thanks! For replace the solution of Exar SP3232E, it should use TRS3232E, right? But TRS3232 will cheaper .

Eggsy,

Yes, that's correct. TRS3232E is the more direct replacement, but its additional ESD immunity requires some extra cost in the design.
