TUSB320LAI: TUSB320 with USB-C legacy cable / Error in TUSB320-LA-EVM documetation

Part Number: TUSB320LAI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB320, TUSB320-LA-EVM

I need to charge a Li-Ion battery with max 1.5A over a USB-C plug. I want to use a TUSB320 to determine the max. current I can draw from the power source. If the power source has an USB Type A plug, do I need to implement the BC1.2 detection in parallel to draw 1.5A over a USB-C legacy cable?
By the way, in the documentation of the TUSB320-LA-EVM under 2.3 DIP Switch Setting is written, that for GPIO mode you need to remove R12, but you need to remove R10!
