DS80PCI810: difference between DS80PCI810 and DS80PCI800

Part Number: DS80PCI810
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS80PCI800

Hi Team,

Is there any testing result data to indicate the difference between DS80PCI810 and DS80PCI800?

For example an eye diagram.

Thank you.

  • Hi Tiffany,

The DS80PCI800 and PCI810 are similar parts.  The original device is the DS80PCI800, it has a multi-stage CTLE which can produce relatively high levels of gain to compensate for transmission line losses or attenuation.  The DS80PCI810 was designed from the DS80PCI800, it has a single stage CTLE which produces less gain, but the output is more linear.  This combination of gain and linearity often gives the best overall results in PCIe Gen3 systems.  This is especially true if the device placement is closer to the system PCIe Tx than the PCIe Rx.

In general I would always try to recommend the DS80PCI810 for PCIe applications now.  It has passed PCI-SIG testing and is on the Integrators List.
