Hi Experts,

Our customer wants to use our SN65HVD888 with below external ESD and Surge protection circuit, can you help to check if it is enough or we have better suggestions for higher reliability?

    The protection looks well done. Please choose parameters right so that the combination works the way you want (sometime it's tricky). SMBJ6.5CA is the unidirectional diode and I'm sure why V205 and V206 (V204 as well) are placed at the same direction. In general we recommend SM712 that has operation range -7V to 12V, which fits RS-485 operation. You can refer to Figure 37 of SN65HVD73 data sheet for TVS placement. Please let me know if you have more questions.
