TPS65987D: TPS6598X-CONFIG v5.1 (18-FEB 2012) installation problem

Part Number: TPS65987D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS6598X-CONFIG

Dear,

I have used the TPS6598X-config program well since I installed it last year to my WindowsXP desktop.

Last month I upgraded the OS to Windows7 (32bit), and everything works well.

Today I noticed the new v5.1 released 18 Feb. 2019, and installed it. However, it doesn't work. When I run it, it displays an error message of wrong 32/64 bit OS and stops. Of course, I tried both 32bit and 64bit version — the same result.

The message meaning is: This file version is not compatible with the running Windows version. Please ask the software supplier.

Would you help me to resolve this problem?

Thanks again

J.H.Kim

  • Hi J.H.Kim,

We use Windows 7 as well in our office for testing. We have not seen any issues like this when installing the GUI tool. There should be no compatibility issues with Windows 7. Are you able to successfully install it on another PC?

    Thank you,
    Eric
  • Dear Eric,
I succeeded in the same PC (Dell Optiplex 780) but with WindowsXP and old version tool, which I eliminated, unfortunately. My colleagues also install successfully but all Windows 10. Only I use windows 7. I suspect the Windows 7 Korean language version causes the problem.
Could I get the old version tool instead?
    Thanks for your help.

    J.H.Kim
  • Hi J.H.Kim,

Unfortunately, we cannot release old versions of the tool anymore as they are obsolete. However, we are in the process of releasing an updated version that should be available later this month. This version may resolve the installation issue you are facing.

    Thank you,
    Eric
  • We are also experiencing this same problem with 5.1 when trying to run the application.  "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows..."

We are running Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1,  32 bit

We have been running the 4.03 on this same machine.

My co-worker is running Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1,  64 bit.  He was able to install and run the 64 bit 5.1 version of the software on his computer.

    Thanks,

    Dave

  • Hi Dave,

Apologies for the inconvenience but we are working on releasing a new revision of the app customization tool that should resolve this issue. Please expect to see it on TI.com soon.

    Thanks,
    Eric
