Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS110RT410
Dear Sir,
I am choosing DS110DF410SQ for our 10G backplane application. it describes the DFE function. may I know the advantage of DFE?
or for cost issue maybe I just use DS110RT410 is enough, thanks.

Greetings Lucifer,
This depends on your application/pcb layout.
1). If insertion loss is less than 25dB and there is no cross talk then there is no need for DFE.
2). If insertion loss is less than 25dB and there is cross talk then we recommend using adapt mode 3. In this mode, DFE adapts with minimal CTLE gain. Further DFE adaptation continues after CDR is locked.
3). If insertion loss is greater than 25dB and there is cross talk then it would be a good idea to use adapt mode 2 with DFE. In this mode, DFE adapts after CTLE adaptation.
