DS80PCI810: [DS80PCI810] The behavior changed from master mode to slave mode

Part Number: DS80PCI810

Hi sir :

Pardon me, we have a question, when the repeater is master mode, loading code is done from EEPROM, it changes the mode from master mode to slave mode automatically.

Does the repeater load code again in slave mode ?

Thank you.

  • Hi,

The DS80PCI810 will load the EEPROM information on power-up with READ_EN = 0 and ENSMB = Float.

When the EEPROM information is successfully loaded and ALL_DONE# = 0, the DS80PCI810 will automatically revert to slave mode.  At this time all the information loaded by the EEPROM is retained.  There should be no change in performance during this transition.

Once in slave mode the DS80PCI810 can be accessed with standard SMBus R/W commands to the address defined by the AD[3:0] pins.

    Regards,

    Lee
