DS100KR800: Whether the device DS100KR800 has pin delay requirement when do CAD design?

Part Number: DS100KR800

Hi team,

Whether the device has pin delay requirement when do CAD design? Thanks.

  • Hi Frank,

The DS100KR800 and similar devices with differential I/O perform best when the input and output signal lengths or electrical delays are equal on the + and - pins.  This helps to keep the signal in a purely differential state.  When signal nets are imbalanced there is more signal energy converted into the common mode.  Common mode signals will degrade differential receiver performance and radiate EMI easier.

For the DS100KR800 we recommend to match the lengths to within 10 mils for best performance.  This trace length difference translates to approximately 1.7ps of delta in electrical length.

    Regards,

    Lee
