UA9637A: Handling unused differential inputs

Part Number: UA9637A

Hello Ti,

Using the UA9637A - Dual High Speed Differential Line Driver.

I am  only using one of the line drivers and the other one is not used.

How do I properly terminate the differential inputs of the unused gate p5, p6?

Regards,

Chris Fisher

  • Chris,

These pins can be left floating if they are not being used.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • Chris,

Adding on to Eric's comment, you might choose to pull one side high (to VCC) and pull the other low (to GND).  This would force the output into a fixed state.  Otherwise with no defined differential input you may see some oscillating or switching on the corresponding output.  This isn't an issue for the receiver, but you might want to avoid it if you are concerned about potentially coupling noise to other components on the PCB.
