TIOS101: TIOS101 LDO performances

Part Number: TIOS101
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV760

Hello Team,

in regards to the following info:

  1. LDO output voltage across temperature
  2. Output current vs. Input voltage (beside the thermal limitation that may apply)

Do we have the plot for typical data?

for point 2 the limits would come from thermal limitation only or other factors as well. For instance the LDO TLV760 has the following plot.

A similar one it would help.

Thanks,

SunSet

  • I don't currently have the exact data you want to create a similar typical curve plots.  Most of the data I have is for multiple devices across a specific set of test conditions.  I will need to collect some more data in order to create these curves and I will provide that in a follow up post.  This might take a few days to put together, but I will try to provide that as quickly as I can.

Regarding the LDO output current, there is a 35mA limit built into the LDO.  It should provide you any more current than 35mA under any condition.  The device also uses the LDO for it's internal circuits and some current will be consumed by the device itself.  There is a 20mA output spec for the current available to an external device and the remaining 15mA capacity is intended for the internal use and some overhead for in-rush currents.  But there is not a 20mA limit circuit on the output itself, only the 35mA overall limit.

However, with higher input voltages, the thermal heating across the LDO will become more of a factor and limit the available output current before shutdown will occur.  The current through the switch's load on the Output pin will further add heat to the device and could further reduce or change the amount of available current through the LDO as a result of thermal heating limits.

    Regards,
