Dear Team,

My customer wants to transfer 4k60Hz 4:4:4 8-bit 594MHz picture over 10m cable. They can go up to 4k30Hz 4:2:0 8 bit 148Mhz without using additional retimer and they can reach up to 4K30Hz 4:4:4 8bit 296Mhz using our TMDS181 EVM. Is there any settings which can help going up to 594MHz?

Are you in I2C or Pin Strap Mode?

For I2C, I would recommend using the EyeScan Tool which can be downloaded here: http://www.ti.com/product/TMDS181/toolssoftware.

Does the EVM work at 594MHz with a shorter cable?

Hi David,

They tested their system with 5m cable, and it works fine up to 594MHz.

Do you have any suggestions on the I2C settings to reach up to 10m cable length at 596MHz?

Is TMDS181 being configured in re-timer mode with adaptive equalizer? Do they have the EyeScan Tool that they can use to read back the equalizer value with the 10m cable?
