DS90UH947-Q1: Register configuration

Part Number: DS90UH947-Q1

Hello, TI Engineers:

Our company used 3 types of FPDLINK IC as below:

1.DS90UH927QSQX#NOPB

2.DS90UH947TRGCRQ1

3.DS90UH948TNKDRQ1

And now I have some questions about these registers' configuration. I listed these questions in excel.

Please refer to the attachment. I'm looking forward to your reply!

Thank you!

  • Hello Ning,

I will provide answers to your questions but this will take few days. You have a very large list of questions!!

  • Hello  Mr. Hamzeh,

No  problem. I'm looking forward to your reply.

Thanks a lot for your help!

    Best Regard,

    Ning

  • Hello Ning,

Unfortunately I can provide you with all these details. Most if these information are already in the datasheet.

If you have a specific question, please feel free to ask.

  • Hello Hamzeh, Thanks a lot for your reply, but I didn't find the attachment. Could you tell me how can I get the document about your answer? Best Regard, Ning
  • Hello Ning,

excuse me there was a typo in my previous reply. I wanted to write that I can NOT provide you with all these details.

Most if these information are already in the datasheet.

If you have a specific question, please feel free to ask.

  • Hello  Hamzeh,

There are some questions during our design cycle in the list document. The information in datasheet can not help us resolving the actual problems.

    Such as reset function:

PDB pin has reset function, register 0x01 also has reset function, what's difference between them?

How do I set register 0x01  when I use MCU to control PDB pin?

    Another example :

Some description of registers just said that if you use this function, please set this bit to 1. But I don't know when I use this function and how can I use this

function? And sometimes there are many registers is related of one function, if I use this function, how can I set these registers?

    Another example :

Some register is value setting, so what principle should I use to set this register?

    Another example :

Some registers are reserved bits, and the default value is 'X', but our reading value is not 'X', so does it wrong? Why does this difference happen?

    And so on......

Related on above information, I listed these questions in excel, so I hope TI engineers can help us to resolve these problems.

    Thank you !

    Best Regard,

    Ning

  • Hello Ning,

    answering your questions.

PDB pin has reset function, register 0x01 also has reset function, what's difference between them?

PDB is a hard reset, means you are resetting the complete device. But digital reset is just resetting the digital blocks inside the device.

How do I set register 0x01  when I use MCU to control PDB pin?

As said, these are different functions. Using MCU to reset PDB has nothing to do with register 0x01.

    Another example :

Some description of registers just said that if you use this function, please set this bit to 1. But I don't know when I use this function and how can I use this function? And sometimes there are many registers is related of one function, if I use this function, how can I set these registers?

Can you be more specific and give some registers please?

    Another example :

Some register is value setting, so what principle should I use to set this register?

Can you be more specific and give some registers please?

    Another example :

Some registers are reserved bits, and the default value is 'X', but our reading value is not 'X', so does it wrong? Why does this difference happen?

Reserved bits has some internal functions. The status of those bits can change. So, please do not bother about reserved registers.

  • Hello  Mr. Hamzeh,

    >>>Can you be more specific and give some registers please?

My questions as examples like last reply are all in my list document.

Need I have to ask you one by one to get answers?

Couldn't  you answer in my excel?

Our two companies are long-term partners.

We are designing a new product this year.

Now we have encountered these problems. I hope you can help us.

    Thank you!

    Best Regard,

    Ning

  • Hello Ning,

Sorry for not beeing able to answer all these questions. As said, this is a huge list of questions and the better way to get them clarified is to have a meeting with a local TI support and you both can go through the list and clarify all questions.

  • Hello  Mr. Hamzeh,

I am confused. Japanese engineers suggest that asking questions on E2E, which will be more efficient to solve the problems.

    Best Regard,

    Ning

  • Hello  Mr. Hamzeh,

Could you give me the way to  communicate with Chinese or Japanese TI support.

    Thank you!

    Regards,

    Ning

  • Hello Ning,

I do not know the name of your company and  I do not know who is the TI local-support for your company. Your company shall have the contact name. Otherwise you may ask the sails team at
