TPS65987D: TPS65987D GPIO selection and configuration guide in GUI for controlling HD3SS460

Part Number: TPS65987D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HD3SS460, , TPS65987

Hi,

Some questions about TPS65987D+HD3SS460 application.

1>, Which GPIOs of TPS65987 are recommended to use as control signals of POL, AMSEL and EN of HD3SS460?

2>, There are many selection for Mapped Event? Which Event is recommended for POL, AMSEL and EN respectively?

or do you have any selection guide for the Mapped Event?

3>, In TPS65987 datasheet, using divider of R2/(R1+R2) for I2C address Selection, but in GUI, using R1/R2 for I2C address Selection, which one should I follow?

  • Hi Sean,

The GPIO selection is up to you, most of the GPIO pins should be fine to use. If you would like to see an example of the GPIOs and the events that need to be mapped, you can take a look at the DisplayPort Alternate Mode Application Note. You will find more information in Section 3.2, which also contains the GPIO settings and events needed for HD3SS460 on Figure 4 of the application note.

For the I2C address selection, only the division formula is shown differently on the GUI, however if you click the drop down button on the GUI you will see that the actual address range options are the same as shown in the datasheet and so both are correct as they are the same.

    Thank you,

    Hari
