SN65HVD230: SN65HVD230

Part Number: SN65HVD230

Hi!

I am having problems with interfacing SN65HVD230 with STM32F1 /  STM32F4 family. When I test on Rx / Tx signal everything works, when I attach the  SN65HVD230  modules it doesnt work. CANH and CANL are terminated with 120Ohms each end. Rs is tied with 10kOhm to ground. I have slowed down everything to 125 kbit/s.

Using the same modules and same network layout as in the original thread. Would like to understand how it was solved there.

Thanks.

  • Hi Lutz,

Similarly with the other thread, the best way to start debugging physical layer issues is usually to observe the waveforms.  Are you able to capture TXD, RXD, CANH, and CANL on an oscilloscope?

Also, what did you mean when you say just testing Rx / Tx works?  Do you mean you see these lines toggling, or that communication works between two nodes just by tying these logic-level lines together?  I'd be a little confused by the latter since typically this will result in the controller throwing errors (since it expects to see Tx data looped back on Rx, a function typically performed by the transceiver IC.
