Hello, 

We had a custom APD development and due to architectural reasons of this new APD we would like to interface this to the TIA via the Cathode unlike the usual p side or anode.  We would then seek to negatively bias the APD.  Presumably the TIA would also need the Vee to have a negative potential at this is probably not possible on the onet8551.  Is this the case and is there a possibility of interfacing the APD cathode to the TIA input?

    Hello Charles,

    Like you mentioned this cannot be done with the ONET8551T. There is no way to modify the supplies of the TIA and the ONET cannot provide the negative bias that you would need for your APD. You might want to check out the LMH32401. While the part is not yet released, the LMH32401 is intended to be used with a negatively biased APD.
