TCA9546A: output port behavior

Part Number: TCA9546A

Hi Team,

My customer current design is let CPU to reset TCA9546A, but during the board bring up, CPU can’t to reset TCA9546A.

(Because they use CLK gen IC to supply all of system CLK, but it use I2C to configure the CLK output)

According to this one and here have TCA9546A application questions that need your help for it as follows:

    (1)    If CPU didn't provide signals to TCA9546A’s I2C input pins, what is the status for TCA9546A’s output ports would be?

    (2)    If TCA9546A keeps on non-reset state,  what is the status for TCA9546A’s output ports would be?

    (3)   Can use the Resister/Capacitor circuit or others to reset TCA9546A?

Best regards,

Albert Lee.

Assuming proper POR Vcc ramp, all channels should be disabled.

        (2)    If TCA9546A keeps on non-reset state,  what is the status for TCA9546A’s output ports would be?

If RESET is low, the channels will be disabled and the device would be non responsive until reset is pulled high.

        (3)   Can use the Resister/Capacitor circuit or others to reset TCA9546A?

Yes, you can just tie the reset pin to Vcc with a pull up resistor. The device will reset upon power up.

    Best regards,
