SN75LVCP601: SN75LVCP601: Tx and Rx swap is this possible?

Hi expert,

Customer is using SN75LVCP601 as SATA redriver, but customer has two questions

1. Is that OK to swap Tx and Rx with SATA redriver application? Does this redriver bi-direction or uni-direction?

2. Cable connection on the redriver both sides, what is the shortest trace from redriver to connector?

    Hi Oliver,

    The SN75LVCP601 cannot swap Rx and Tx.  They are dedicated signals.  The two dedicated channels on the SN75LVCP601 form a bi-directional pair of channels, each channel is only half-duplex.

    The redriver can handle relatively short trace distances with the lowest EQ setting.  See section 9 in the datasheet for additional information.
