Hey, we are integrating this part with our Board. So we were doing pre-simulation to ascertain its usage. As a part of pre-sim we attached the PSPICE transient model provided in Design & Development section to the testbench and did a virtuoso simulation. But looks like the model is not behaving as expected. Is this model not supposed be used in this manner?

Hi Vinay,

Welcome to E2E!

Often times when trying to use the simulations tool in other environments other than PSPICE you will need the unencrypted file in order for it to work.

Try using the following file for the TVS0500.

Thanks for quick response,

Although I have one apprehension with the PSPICE model. There is an internal net of the model called GND which connects to all grounds through 1u resistance. Because of that name, I suspect it can get shorted to testbench GND during netlisting for the case we are using Cadence simulator. That will put that node to ground even though the GND pin might not be connected to testbencg GND.

Can you please check that if this is the case or not.

Hi Vinay,

In the netlist, the actual test bench ground will be denoted as "0" and not as GND. In the model GND node is just a label. This node will have to be connected to the test bench ground in order to work. The GND label will not short the pins to ground if there is no connection to GND "0" in the schematic.
