SN55LVCP22-SP: Does this device support cold sparing for differential inputs?

Part Number: SN55LVCP22-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN55LVDS32-SP

Hi Team

My customer would like to use this device in a redundant cold sparing configuration.

See their question below:

Our application has the input AC coupled and terminated with a thevenin termination.

With power off the max input would be about +/-200mV at IN0+ and IN0- (No common mode voltage since there is no supply voltage to the pull up in the thevenin resistor network.)

Is the input fully cold spareable?

Can it stand some reduced input voltage level?

I compared the equivalent input diagrams of this device and the SN55LVDS32-SP which does explicitly support cold sparing. The input diagrams appear to be somewhat similar, so I suspect this device should also be OK in this situation.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Jim B
