TSB12LV32-EP: diagnostic register

Part Number: TSB12LV32-EP

Team,

My customer has the following question:

We currently use the TI TSB12LV32-EP 1394 LLC device in our products. During our production tests, we read the Diagnostic Register at address 20h. Although bits 10-15 are defined as reserved, on most devices we read “000000” on these bits respectively. We have seen instances in which we read “000010” and one time I saw a reading of “000111”.

Can you reach out to the apps team and see if they can tell us why the reserved bits might change state? Is this indicative of something wrong with the device or the supporting circuit or do they have no significance in the performance of the device. See picture below for bit descriptions.

 Regards,

Aaron
