TVS0500: TVS1800: TVS3301 manufacturing test data

Part Number: TVS0500
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVS3301

Customer is looking for actual measured value of these important parameters for TVS0500DRVR, TVS1800DRVR and TVS3301DRBR.
VF, IR(BRD, DIO); VBR, IR(TVS), Vc(TVS), Ipp(TVS)

They require the manufacturing test data, not the information in datasheet. Could you support on this case? Thanks.

  • Hi Yu-Chen,

    Welcome to E2E!

Why would the customer need measured test data?

The measured test data does not consider all factors that affect the parameters that we acquire when creating the datasheet. We cannot guarantee the margins from the test measured values. The information we can guarantee is what is on the datasheet which is what should be used to ensure a robust system.

  • Hi Andy,

Customer is undergoing their internal New Part Number Recognition Process. Since the three devices are TVS type, they require to obtain actual measured value for those parameters, not just the information in datasheet.

As the result, could you support on providing the data that customer need? Thanks.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Yu-Chen,

I'm currently looking for the data to provide to the customer, but could you help me confirm the parameters they are inquiring about from the datasheet. Here is what you requested in the initial post: VF, IR(BRD, DIO); VBR, IR(TVS), Vc(TVS), Ipp(TVS)

VF, IR(BRD, DIO) : Forward voltage and DC forward current

VBR, IR(TVS) : Breakdown voltage and DC breakdown current

    Vc(TVS) : Clamping voltage

    Ipp(TVS) : Peak pulse current

    Is this correct?

    Best regards,

    Andy Robles

  • Hi Andy,

Please see the reply from customer:

    • VF, IR(BRD, DIO) : Forward voltage and Reverse current
    • VBR, IR(TVS) : Breakdown voltage and DC breakdown current
    • Vc(TVS) : Clamping voltage
    • Ipp(TVS) : Peak pulse current

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Yu-Chen,

Find below a table with measured values for the forward voltage, breakdown voltage, clamping voltage, and IPP. For the TVS3301 the forward voltage of the device was not tested and is also not included in the datasheet. The DC breakdown current of the devices is guaranteed by simulation.

When the customer mentions reverse current, which datasheet spec are they exactly referencing?

    Best regards,

    Andy Robles
