TCA9517A: Active high all the time

Hi team,

 

Are there any concern if EN is high active all the time ?

 

Here is their background.

-       Slave devices are more than three

-       Connected two slave devices per repeater IC

-       Supply power and GND from bus master

-       Repeater is active all the time.

    Hey Michiaki,

    Holding the enable high for operation (and while Vcc is not present) is okay. The pins are 5V tolerant.

    You mention 2 slaves per repeater (which suggests multiple repeaters), are you using multiple TCA9517As? If so, do you have a block diagram of how they are connected? I ask because, the 9517 does not allow the B sides of the device to be connected to other B sides of 9517.
