TCAN1042HG-Q1: p2p compatibility with and without level shifters

Part Number: TCAN1042HG-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1042V-Q1, TCAN1042-Q1

Hi All,

Currently my customer is using TCAN1042V-Q1 (TCAN1042HVDRBRQ1) with "V suffix"  that is with integrated level shifters.
He would like to replace on another board the SN65HVD251D / SO8 with the transceiver TCAN1042-Q1 but, having the first only the VCC (5V), I would need the version without level shifters (without V suffix, ie TCAN1042HGDRBTQ1) so that I can replace the second to the first without changes.

Can you please confirm that the variants with and without V have the same characteristics, as it seems from the datasheet?

Many Thanks,

Antonio

  • Hi Antonio,

Yes, both part numbers are based on a common design.  The performance of the "non-V" version matches the performance of the "V" version if its VIO rail were to be shorted to VCC.

Please let us know if there is any further info we can provide.

    Best regards,
    Max
