Hi Sir,

In my design I use the TUSB522 to enhance the USB signal quality. My application is shown in below, it's used for camera video capture. The TUSB522 setting is shown below too. When video capture is running, sometimes the USB host controller miss the camera device or get error video. It seems the USB receive quality isn't good enough. Please help to tell me how to adjust the TUSB522 EQ/DE/OS to overcome my issue. Thanks a lot.

1. Current setting in my TUSB522. Test 1 and test 2 are failure in camera capture video.

Test 1:

EQ1: 9dB
EQ2: 6dB
DE1:-3.5dB
DE2:-6.2dB
OS1:0.9Vpp
OS2:0.9Vpp

Test 2:

EQ1: 9dB
EQ2: 9dB
DE1:-6.2dB
DE2:-6.2dB
OS1:1.1Vpp
OS2:1.1Vpp

2. The SI compliance test of USB is PASS in Measurd point A.

Hi,

Could you measure the eye diagram at the end of the USB3 cable used? Could I also see eye diagram at measurement point A? It may be useful to lower EQ2 & DE2 and retest (EQ2 may be boosting noise from long pre-channel and DE2 may be over compensating for 4 inch post-channel).

HI,

Please refer to the attached file for SI report at measurement point A. The eye diagram measurement at the end of the USB3 cable will be done ASAP.

1. I will try Lower EQ2 and DE2 test ASAP.

2. How about the OS1/2 value setting? Do you have any comment?

Hi,

OS setting of 1.1V may be better for long cable. Do you know the insertion loss of your cable at 2.5GHz? How long is the cable you are testing with? Have you tried other cable from different manufactures of similar length?
