Hi, Is it possible to use the PWM output as a tone generator to drive a sounder?

The question is how quickly could the tone change.

I am using MAX7349AEG+ now which has sounder driver but in NRND.

It looks like based on page 8, the fastest PWM frequency you can set is 500Hz (at T_Hi=T_Lo=1xtc=~1ms).

I'm not familiar with a tone generator/sounder circuit but it seems like 500Hz would only give you a low frequency hum. I'm not sure if that is something that is sufficient for your application or not.
