TPD3S014: TPD3S014

Part Number: TPD3S014

Hi all.
I am in full development of a portable measuring equipment. This is powered by an internal pack of 4 ni-mh batteries, and has its own charging electronics. On the other hand, I want to use a TPD3S014 to protect the data lines of USB port, but I would also like to use the possibility that when the equipment is connected to the USB it also charges a little, even if it is. For this, I must connect the TPD3S014 voltage output to the battery pack, limiting with a resistance, for a maintenance charge. My question is, when the battery is at its maximum charge (almost 6 volts), and the USB only gives 5 volts. Should I put a diode to the TPD3S014 output to avoid any damage?, or does the internal FET support that the output (battery) is greater than 5 volts?
It should be noted that both will never be connected at the same time (charger and USB)

Thank you!!!
