Hi Sergio,

The date of assembly is given in the three-character code on the second row of top-side markings. The first character represents the year (e.g., "4" = 2014) and the second character represents the month ("1" = January, "2" = February, ..., "A" = October, "B" = November, and "C" = December). The last character is a code for the assembly site used (in this case "M" represents TI Mexico).

Is there a way to tell between 2004 and 2014?

Sergio,

The third line is a unique lot trace code. You can't get any meaning from the characters themselves, but we could use them if needed to track down more info on the specific assembly lot the unit originated from. If you wanted I could check with our component quality team to look these two up to see if we can give a specific year. Otherwise you would either need to make a guess as to whether they were 2004 or 2014 based on when they were purchased or refer to the label information (if you still have access to this, I believe they generally write out the full year).

If you could look those up, it would be great! Looks like they were put on custom reels at some point, so no markings there. I want to make sure we use the latest parts, not something which was in storage since 2004.

Part 1 is from 2014. I'm not finding anything for part 2 - is it possible you've mis-read any of the characters? If you'd like to post a photo I could take a look.
