SN65LVDS31-EP: Absolute maximum rating : Differential output common mode voltage supported by SN65LVDS31-EP

The maximum common mode voltage the SN65LVDS31 will output is 1.375V - it is not something you really have any control over.

Sorry but my question was not the maximum output voltage emitted by the SN65LVDS31 but the voltage supported by the SN65LVDS31 on its differential outputs ?

The component is degraded if I apply a voltage of 7V on its output ?

Oh my mistake. But why would you apply any voltage to the output?

No, the 7V is only the diode voltage rating. The outputs don't have a specified maximum voltage rating (there's really no reason to), but I would assume it would be the same as the input's Vcc+0.5 since the equivalent schematics look similar.

Hello,

These component are used in external interfaces of our equipment and we want to show that the component are not  degraded in case of failure of the external interface.

Are you sure that the component only support VCC+0.5V on these output ? The SN65LVDS33-EP can support 6V on its differential output and the interface is nearly the same.

Hi Nicolas,

The SN65LVDS33-EP does not have differential outputs. I think you meant differential inputs, but either way the interfaces are not nearly the same - they are very different. An LVDS driver output is not equivalent to an LVDS receiver input. They are specified for different things and do not have the same electrical characteristics or architecture.

Okay so you can confirm that the maximum voltage that we can apply on differntial output of SN65LVDS31-EP is VCC+0.5V ?
