SN65DSI84-Q1: How to configure I84 by DSI tuner?

Hi team,

My customer is using a display board which has MIPI DSI to LVDS bridge (SN65DSI84) to give LVDS display. They need to bring up a dual channel LVDS display (COG-CHSDT002-01).

We have configured panel inputs as shown below and DSI inputs according to the datasheet to generate the CSR values. But the display is not working.

The DSI tuner configurations as the below for your reference.

Could you help to check the configurations? Thank you.

In addition, customer feedback that the DSI input is configured as below, and it works, but it is very confused for me.

Actually, I have read this FAQ before, and I also follow your guidance.

However, customer feedback cannot be displayed according to this configuration. The specific configuration is shown in the question. And change DSI Ch A CLK to 188, Divisor to 4 to display normally. Calculate according to the guide: 47.1*24*2/(2*4) = 282.6 instead of 188.

Hi Ansel,

The configuration you have with DSI ChA CLK set to 282.6 MHz is correct. However, the customer needs to ensure that the output from their DSI source matches what is put in DSI_Inputs in the DSI-Tuner (HPW, HBP, HFP, VPW, VBP, VFP, HActive, VActive, clk frequency, etc.).

Hi I.K.,

You can refer to the below table for display parameters including PCLK and blanking. It is completely set according to the data in the table, as shown in the first picture. Please help to check what issue for setting, thank you.

Hi Yu,

Check the DSI source output settings, not the LVDS settings. I.e. check #2 and #4 on this FAQ: https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface/f/138/t/852871

The DSI related configuration has been confirmed.

In addition, in addition to the registers automatically configured by DSI-tuner, do we need to manually change other registers?

Customer feedback is now displayed, but the display will be ghosted as shown below. Then change register 0x1A=0x03 to 0x1A=0x43. show normaly.

Yu,

Please refer to the register descriptions. This means they either mixed up CHA and CHB routing or the even/odd mapping from the DSI source is swapped.
