TCA9546A: how to select 4-address channels for TCA9546A

Part Number: TCA9546A

Dear sir,

1.how to select address ch-0,1,2,3 slave address in I2C communication for IC TCA9546A.

2.interfacing four channel slaves address selection.

  • Hello,

The TCA9546A's configuration can be changed via I2C writes to its control register.  The device's address is 1110(A2)(A1)(A0) where A2, A1, and A0 represent the state (high or low) of the pins with those names.  The control register is an 8-bit register whose lower 4 bits correspond to the configurations of the four I2C switch channels.  You can reference Section 8.3.2 of the datasheet for a full description.  You use this register to enable or disable the different channels independently.  If a channel is disabled, it does not conduct.  If a channel is enabled, it allows for communication to occur between its SDx/SCx lines and the I2C bus connected to SDA and SCL.  Please let me know if this is not clear or if you have further questions.

    Regards,
    Max
