DP83TC811EVM: DP83TC811EVM

Part Number: DP83TC811EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83TC811

Dear Team

Have a good day!

Our customer use Keysight Broad-Reach test software to test Tx signal ,The TC811EVM working properly, But they  cannot measured signal from RJ45 interface in RED,they can measured signal from the Port in GREEN.

Could you tell us how to set the jumper and switch to let signal out of the RJ45.Thanks.
Picture as followed is the setting of the board now ,we use USB to power the board:

Best regards

  • Hi Guangyan,

Can you clarify what signal you want to measure on the RJ45 connector? The DP83TC811EVM is a media converter from Standard Ethernet 100Base-TX to 100Base-T1. The RJ45 port on the EVM is routed to the DP83822, not the DP83TC811.

Have you consulted the DP83TC811EVM User's Guide?

  • Hello,

This is Jimmy of SHICC.We use Keysight Broad-Reach software to test Transmitter Signal of Automotive Ethernet of 5 Test Mode(Output Droop Tests etc.),attachment is the test tools for details.

The TC811EVM is our standard DUT .We use the Keysight fixture to connect TC811EVM by RJ45 cable. But no signal out from TC811EVM`s RJ45 port(red),but we can measured signal out of GREEN port.

Our question is :how to config the  TC811EVM and let we can test Transmitter Signal just connect fixture and TC811EVM RJ45 port.

  • Hi Justin

    Thank you for your reply

I think you can confirm the details with Jimmy here , I ask the him to provide more information.

    Thank you for your help

    Best regards

  • Hello Jimmy, Leon,

The DP83TC811EVM does not route any signals from the DP83TC811 to the RJ45 connector. The RJ45 connector is routed to the on-board DP83822 to act as a media converter from 100Base-TX to 100Base-T1.

The DP83TC811 differential transmit and receive signals are only available through the MatENET connector as you have seen. If you would like to connect the DP83TC811 to a RJ45 connect through the MateNET port, you will need a cable with MatENET connector on one side and RJ45 on the other. An example of this can be found in Figure 1 of the DP83TC811 IEEE 802.3bw Compliance App Note here:
