SN75LVCP601: Maximum Eye Opening

Could You please help clarify the measurement points of Eye Openings. Section 6.9 (Page 10)

First Left Plot: The Eye opening (6Gbps) seems to be constant at around 0.6V irrespective of the input trace length frpm 2 to 22 in. Is this measurement after Rx Equalization.

Second Plot: Is it after De- Emphasis : The maximum output Eyeopening seems to be 0.5V Diff.

Does that mean that the output of SN75LVCP601 will have max eye opening of 0.5V p-p Diff even if the input voltage has higher eye opening.

Hypothetically- if 1V eye opening is applied at the input- the output ill have only 0.5V eye opening.

Also the first plot has 0.6V eyeopening max- but second plot has 0.5V eyeopening max- Could You please let me know reason for this.

first plot: it's output eye opening, so it's after RX EQ

second plot: it's based on same input signal. if input voltage higher, output should be higher too.

Could You let me know why the eye opeing after RX EQ is limited to around 0.6V Max.

I noticed that if 1V Diff eye-opening signal is input to the device ( as per the IBIS AMI models provided by TI) the output after RX EQ is maximum of 0.6V only.

output is depends on De setting. not input signal.

Hi Brian,

Could You please let me know the parameters of the input signal (eye amplitude) that was used to capture the first waveform in Section 6.9

And reason why eye opening does not depend on trace input length.

input signal is 500mv.

2nd question is EQ compensating the trace length
