SN55110A: Is it compatible with SN65HVD33?

Hi, 

Good day. I hope you are doing well. 

Our customer wants to know if the SN55110A is compatible with the SN65HVD33? I understand the 110A is suggested to be paired with the 107A. However, they need to maintain differential pairing throughout the circuit. They are trying to determine if the SN55110A being constant current outputs can mate directly with the SN65HVD33.

    Cedrick,

    It's possible. What's the loading of SN55110A? This device has differential open-drain. If the generated output differential voltage (like Figure 5 on the datasheet) is within the spec of SN65HVD33 (amplitude and common mode), the communication should work.
