Hi TI Team,

We are using TCA9546A IC in our project. As mentioned in datasheet A0,A1 and A2 are hardware configurable. Is it ok to keep them floating and what will be the default state of these signals.?

What will happen if those are NC.

Section 8.6.1 of the datasheet says:

To conserve power, no internal pullup resistors are incorporated on the hardware-selectable address pins, and they must be pulled high or low.

If you let them float, you get high cross currents, and the address is random.

Hi Ladisch,

Thank you for your quick response. Currently in our hardware those pins are floated. Will this affect the functionality of IC.? Since it takes random address what should be taken care in software while configuration.

The software has to try all eight addresses. And I do not know what happens when the voltage at the address pins changes after the reset.
