TCA9539-Q1: Does TI have an automotive 5V I/O expander device?

Hi team,

I'm looking for 5V I/O expander device for automotive system.

The TCA9539-Q1 doesn't support 5V supply voltage. Could you tell me an automotive 5V IO expander device?

It would be necessary to combine a 3.3 V expander with a 5 V level shifter. (Are the 5 V signals inputs, outputs, or bidirectional?)

Hi Clemens,

Thank you for your response to confirm we have only two device for automotive I/O expander.

It seems the TCA9539-Q1 can be applied 5V to input port when the VCC=3.3V. Is it really it can be used 5V for input pin?

I wonder why the TCA9539-Q1 can support 5V input in spite of VCC=3.3V. So, I'd like to confirm the device can really support 5V.

Yes, the TCA9539-Q1 has overvoltage-tolerant inputs. If you need only inputs, then a level shifter is not needed.
