Hello,

We want to develop a 20-40 slot USB hub 2.0 / 3.0 / 3.1 to connect various sensors and USB cameras.
In addition, a single USB connection or LAN port should be available at the end.

What we are looking for:
1. Architectural approach for the entire system
2. Matching USB HUB controller
3. Clarification of the cascading to get to 20-40 USB ports

Is device TUSB4020 can be cascaded? Any reference design we can share?

    Hi Roland,

    UBS hubs can be tiered up to 5 tiers.  So a 1st tier hub with 4 downstream ports could have 4 2nd tier hubs with 4 downstream ports each and then each of those hubs could have another tier of 4 hubs below them, up to 5 tiers.

    Since the customer is asking for USB 3.0 support and max ports, the TUSB8041 or TUSB8042A are better choices.
