SN65LBC180-Q1: Recommended values for VIH and VIL

Part Number: SN65LBC180-Q1

Hello team,

My customer has a question for recommended values of VIH and VIL.

What is the maximum recommended value for VIH?
What is the minimum recommended value for VIL?

I understood the absolute value is -0.3V to Vcc+0.5V.

Best regards,

Shotaro

  • Shotaro,

Since these pins are based on thresholds, there isn't a recommended maximum for VIH or a recommended minimum for VIL. Once the voltage is higher than 2V, anything higher is sufficient for a high output. Same with the low-level, once the voltage is less than 0.8V, anything lower will be sufficient for a low output.

    Does this make sense?

    Regards,

  • Hello Eric,

I understood VIH and VIL are thresholds. So there is not recommended values.

Do we have recommended value for D, DE, and RE?

    Best regards,

    Shotaro

  • Shotaro,

The VIH and VIL thresholds apply to the D, DE, and RE pins, so the recommendations will be the same. In almost all cases, the values at these pins will be either close to GND for the low state, or up to the supply voltage (5V) for the high state. As long as the thresholds for high and low are met though, the voltage value isn't particularly important.

    Regards,
