THVD1410: THVD1410

Part Number: THVD1410

Hi Team,

I am using THVD1410DR RS485 transceiver in my target board, the schematics of the RS485 is attached for your reference.

To test RS485 communication, I had connected target board with THVD1410DR transceiver to my PC with RS485 to USB converter.

I am able to send the data from target board to PC (TX mode) but I am not able to receive the data from PC (RX mode).

I had checked the status of the RE and DE pins (DE= 1 when transmitting and RE= 0 when receiving). May I have some suggestions to resolve this issue or any aspect that I am missing out?

With regards,

Jayashree.

  • I do not see a termination resistor. (But it might not be needed at very low data rates.)

Can you show an oscilloscope trace of the A and R pins when a byte should be received?

  • Jayshree,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'll echo what Clemens requested: Is it possible to share waveforms of D, R, A, and B when transmitting and receiving? This will help narrow down where exactly the issue is occurring.

    Regards,

  • Hi Team,

    Sorry for late reply.

RS485 both TX and RX communication are successful. After referring to the datasheet I understood that RE and DE any one should be enabled at a time.

When we enable RE, DE to be disabled in half duplex communication, we were missing this point. After following this both TX and RX worked in our target board.

We are still trying some experiments on this, I will get back to you if required.

    With regards,

    Jayashree.

  • Jayashree,

Thank you for the update, for now I will close this thread, but you can come back and open it back up by posting if you need to send us another update.
