One of my customer did touched 8KV Discharge experiment on Ethernet interface's RJ45 shell. It seems that DP83849IF is easy to failure on the test. The customer used a multimeter to measure the impedance of Ethernet differential line to GND. The impedance is only 82 Ohm. and the impedance between differential line achieve 0 Ohm. Normally, the impedance of Ethernet differential line to GND is around 580Ohm. I can send you the customer's schematic via email. Do you mind giving me some advices on it?
