TUSB522P: Issue with long impedance controlled FFC and two Re-Drivers setup

Part Number: TUSB522P

Hello all,

I have system, which consist from two board and they are connector by 0.8 FFC cable:

I was afraid, that FFC cable will not pass USB3 signal, so i decided to use two Re-Drivers from each side of this cable

After many testing  iteration, i found, that this setup work only with 0.4 or 1.0m FFC cable from one manufacturer and with 0.8m long FFC cable - won't work. No matter what redriving setting I use.

One note - with 1m FFC cable, i have working system system with 1m USB cable and even with 3m - still system working.

But, if I added external USB3 hub between PC and the USB cable - the system work with 0.8m long FFC cable (the redriving settings are at low settings). What are the difference between host controller and hub controller?

Maybe I can safely remover second Re-Driver form board2?

Thank for any kind of responses!
