SN65LVPE502: Are there compatibility issue that is connection with USB3.1 GEN2 Device?

The SN65LVPE502 is a single lane USB 3.0 redriver and signal conditioner supporting data rates of 5.0Gbps.it will not able to support USB 3.1 Gen 2 10G device.

Sorry, I didn't described more clear. I used Intel C621 chipset on mainboard, The C621 was built-in xHCI controller that are only supply USB3.0 and there are six USB3.0 port.

I used 4 pcs SN65LVPE502 for four USB3.0 port and the others didn’t used SN65LVPE502.

I plugged in USB3.1 GEN2 device at USB3.0 port with SN65LVPE502. => The system recognize USB2.0 device.

I plugged in USB3.1 GEN2 device at USB3.0 port without SN65LVPE502. => The system recognize USB3.0 device.

From the experimental results : The USB3.1 GEN2 device compliance USB3.1 GNE2/GNE1/USB2.0

Do you have experience that are SN65LVPE502 compatibility issue? (Especially USB 3.1 GEN2 device)

Can I please take a look at your schematic and layout?

Have you done any electrical compliance or looking at the eye diagram at the output of the SN65LVPE502? 

Have you also tried different PE/EQ combination?

=> We had finished USB3.1 GEN1 compliance test that result were all pass.

Have you also tried different PE/EQ combination?

=> Yes, but didn't any improve.

We replaced redriver from SN65LVPE502 to TUSB522P, the issue was not occur.

I found that TI suggest "SN65LVPE502 not recommended for new designs", and suggest to use TUSB522P.

Are there any unknown problem with SN65LVPE502?

Does the TI release formal letter/errata about issue?

I need get formal information to inform my customer.

We do not have a formal errata, you could refer to the RX common mode voltage which is 3.3V in the SN65LVPE502 and 0.7V in the TUSB522P as the difference. Plus the SN65LVPE502 is not recommended for new design and we ask people to move to the TUSB522P.

I want to clarify how to measure RX common mode voltage.

May I probe at pin 8 / 9 / 19 / 20?
