hI team,
We want to check the difference between the 10G mode and 10G-KR mode? Whether configure pin 21 mode resistor is fine? Thanks.

Hi Frank,
In KR mode device is operating in its linear region. It means it is working like an analog buffer. In this mode, training signal goes through the device - device is seamless to these patterns. On the other hand, in 10GbE mode, device operates in limiting mode. Meaning device is working like a digital device where we have either logic high or logic low at the output. In this mode, training pattern does not go through the device.

Hi Nasser,
it seems the KR mode is better than the 10G mode. So what's the advantage of the 10G mode? (Which condition we need to configure it to be 10G mode?). Thanks.
Hi Frank,
In some applications where we have high insertion loss, 10G mode could work better.
