We have seen this on certain Windows installation. Does this happen on any kind of I2C activity on the FTDI? or only during debug mode?

In case you are using Flash, can you confirm if the Flash is successfully programmed using FTDI?

It happens not only in the bug mode, but also any icc operation in FTDI mode.

I have already tested three computers, and they all have the same condition.

   Now the software has not crashed, but I have encountered a new problem. When I use my tool to connect the device to the computer, the connection always fails.

  The message is as follows

  Exception Encountered during I2C Address Sweep:No FTDI I2C channels (I2C_GetNumChannels) detected, exiting....

  Can I use my own tools? Or I can only use your USB TO IIC tool? 

   I have loaded the full-flash file generated by the Application Customization Tool into my external flash. Please give me some suggestions and let me finish debugging as soon as possible.

Hi ,

I don't think the GUI supports an off the shelf FTDI board. You can either buy an "Aardvark" adapter or draw I2C lines from the EVM to interface with your customer board and use the EVM's FTDI to communicate with your on board PD device.

Make sure your EVM PD controller is powered off  / has a different address.

EDIT: You can use the off the shelf FTDI board but you would need to create your own PC based interface.

I can use the Application Customization Tool to configure the relevant registers according to the schematic diagram, and then generate a full-flash binary file. Can this file be directly downloaded to the external flash to make tps65987 work?

We made a USB TO IIC tool similar to the EVM board, using the FT4232HL chip. Now our device can communicate with the APP on the computer, or download programs to the device through the APP. I follow the operating document to configure the registers, but the device still has no function after the program is downloaded to the device. What should I pay attention to when using the APP configuration? The current situation is that I don't know if there is a hardware problem or the device does not work because of my incorrect configuration. After the download is done, the device should be rebooted for the patch and configuration to apply.

After the reboot, can you show me a screenshot such as this one:

I checked your configuration to be "Source Only" which is fine.

After your I2C access related issue, can you elaborate on what your observations are? Are you not able to form a contract?

Can share PD logs for further investigation?
