Part Number: TPS65987EVM
Dear Sir / Madam,
I ordered and received TPS65987EVM today. I found it not works and CC2 is shorted to ground. So I worry this EVM is broken. Please help to follow. Thanks.

Hi Cyrus,
Have you tried plugging in a barrel jack connector to the EVM?
Thanks,
Emma
Hi Cyrus,
Can you walk me through your test process to determine CC is shorted to ground? What are you plugging in to the EVM? What LEDs are you seeing?
Thanks,
Emma
Hi Cyrus,
Can you try replacing C27 to see if that solves the issue?
Thanks,
Emma
Hi Emma,
We don't have 0201 size 220pF, so we can't replace C27 right now. But we removed it and checked the pads.
We found both pads are shorted with ground, it means that TPS65987's pin26 C1_CC2 is shorted with ground, too.
Best regards,
Cyrus
Hi Cyrus,
Let me check internally with the team to see what we can do for this issue. I will follow up early next week.
Thanks,
Emma
Hi Cyrus,
I was able to talk to the team this afternoon. Your board looks to be faulty. Please work with our customer returns team and give them the feedback that the board does not work and that this was verified by the team supporting the EVM.
Thanks,
Emma
Hi Emma,
Thanks, I'm contacting the customer support. By the way, as we need the EVM to proof our design urgently, I re-ordered a new EVM.
Best regards,
Cyrus
