Hi team,

As title, is that OK to replace MAX3243 or MAX3232 with TRS3122E?

Customer would like to double check with the team, TRS3122E Dout with +-12V

Customer original design from MAX3243 or MAX3232, those are showing+-5V, are we seeing the correct information about the RS232 output from datasheet? Please advise, appreciate.

Or is there anything that we might miss, that we shall be aware of?

    The RS-232 specification requires the outputs to be at least ±5 V. Up to ±12 V is allowed, but neither the MAX nor the TRS devices will try to go that high.

    The more expensive TRS3122E is useful only when your highest supply is below 3.3 V.
