Hi team,
Could you tell the failure mode of TVSxx series? Is that Short?
When customer expect it will be short, are there any way to fill the gap?

Sorry, it's typo.
I guess the failure mode is short. And when customer expects it will be open, are there any ways to fill the gap?

Hi Noriyuki,
You are correct, the failure mode is short. However, in rare cases, if a high enough current goes through the diode, it can burn open. What do you mean by fill the gap?

Matt,
Thanks for your comments.
I mean, I just wanted to know how to avoid the short or how to make it open with extra circuit.

Noriyuki,
Understood. I don't think there is any way to guarantee an open failure unless you force an overly excessive amount of current through the diode. However, I don't recommend that since you could damage your system that way.
