TCA6416A: thermal pad size

Part Number: TCA6416A

Hi Team,

Customer is looking for alternative of PCAL6416AHF and I am proposing the TCA6416A.

and they would like to confirm if the difference is only the thermal pad size?

please help to comment. Thanks!

    Patty,

    The PCAL series is a completely different device from the normal PCA/TCA devices. The PCAL has additional features such as INT masking, drive strength adjustment, pull_up/pull_down enables, INT_latching.

    If the customer only needs the first 8 registers of both devices then they can be interchanged but if any of the additional features are required then the normal TCA variant does not cover the additional features.
