TPS25750EVM: TPS25750EVM EEPROM flashing issue

Part Number: TPS25750EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS25750

Hi,

I recently acquired the TPS25750EMV evaluation board for the TPS25750 PD controller.

I can connect it to the GUI fine (COM port detected and opened) but when I finish to fill the form and press the "Flash to Device from current configuration" button, the progress bar for the EEPROM stays forever at 0% ("Erasing EEPROM").

Did I miss something ?

The jumpers are all in place (straight out of the box). The EVM is powered with a 20V supply as required.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Marc

  • Hi Marc,

I will need to check with my team to see if there might be other settings required to flash. Could you please share a screenshot with me of your configuration GUI? Just to confirm, you had the EVM powered via barrel jack, and the micro usb cable connected to the desktop, correct?

    Thank you,

    Hari

  • Hi Hari,

I finally managed to make it work. For future reference, I believe it was related to a COM port issue. After rebooting the computer, the COM port attribution worked fine and the EVM board could be accessed.

  • I also encountered another issue. After flashing the EEPROM a few times (testing different configuration), I observe now the configuration is not working anymore. Here is the basic setting used:

Configured as source only (15W,5V,3A), power source, device mode, USB2.0.

Previously, when plugging a tablet through USB-C in this configuration, I would draw around 0.63A and LEDs D5 (pwr_src) would be on.
Now D5 are always off and no current is provided. Only D8 comes up when USB-C is connected

    Physically, the system remains unmodified.

The board is powered through TP4 and TP8 (I don't have a barrel jack for now). SYSPWR LED is on

  • Hi Marc,

Since the original issue is resolved, could you please open a new thread for this question? This would help others who may run into the same issue to find it in search.

    Thank you,

    Hari
