TCA9546A: TCA9546APWR

Part Number: TCA9546A

Hello .

I have two TCA9546APWR chips. The silk screen information is "PW546A 9AK G4 A6CR" and "PW546A 92K G4 A42W". What do these information (except PW546A, G4) mean? If possible, can you tell me the rules for these encodings?

  • The additional information is not documented to impede counterfeiting.

  • User,

These codes are called the Lot Trace Code which gives the fabrication and assembly lot information. We can use this information internally to see where and when these devices were fabricated and assembled. The 92K A42W is the Lot Trace Code, and the G4 sometimes refers to device revision information. For this particular device I'll need to look up what the G4 references.

Can I ask why you need this information?

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett

  • Hi,

This is the case. The chip on one of our equipment is damaged. We did a failure analysis on the chip and found that the chip was internally stratified, but the purchase batch information of this chip is not available. I want to pass the approximate production time of this chip to determine the approximate purchase batch.

  • User,

Understood, are you in contact with any TI sales for your region? They may be able to connect with your quality team in your region to help make this process easier for you. If you would like, you can email me directly and I can assist.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett
