Hello,

I'm writing this message because I haven't found something very convenient, hope your advice will help !

I'm currently looking to an interface IC for a PLC application with Digital Input and Digital Output capabilities. In my dream, SPI interface is available with the possibility to configure the N ports of the IC as a Digital Input Type 1, 2 or 3 or as a Digital Output. Power supply is 24V. I do not need isolation (I can arrange this in the design at the SPI level).

I found a concurrent device at Maxim Integrated (MAX14906), and I'm looking for alternative to compare several references.

    Hi Joel,

    I believe this isn't necessarily our team's area of expertise. However I was able to find a some resources on TI that could help you design your system.

    It looks like here you can select which subsystem you want to buy parts for and TI will give it's recommendations for parts. There is a spot to select digital input and digital output.

    In the meantime I will figure out which team handles Industrial PLC applications.

    thanks for your request and interest in our products!

    We do have devices for Digital Inputs according to Type 1, 2 and 3 standards and seperate devices which can be used for Digital Outputs. Having them seperated has the advantage to be flexible in terms of number of channels and especially on the output side the drive strength.

    Here are some devices which might be of interest for you, plus reference designs using these parts:

    • ISO1211 and ISO1212 --> TIDA-01508
    • SN65HVS882 or SN65hvs885 --> TIDA-00017 / TIDA-010049
    • TPS272C45
    • TPS274160 --> TIDA-01552
    • TIOS101

    This is just a selction.
